The Supremacy of Quantum Algorithms

Focusing on search algorithms and their advantages in quantum computing.

“Quantum computing is transforming our understanding of what computers can achieve. In this webinar, one of the authors of The Supremacy of Quantum Algorithms will introduce this classroom-ready teaching unit, which helps students explore how quantum algorithms can outperform classical approaches.

Through activities based on linear search, binary search, and factorisation, students discover key concepts behind quantum computing and learn why quantum algorithms can offer significant speed-ups. Designed for a wide range of STEM classrooms, the unit requires no prior programming experience and includes both unplugged activities and Python-based extensions for computer science students.

The webinar is mainly aimed at upper secondary mathematics and computer science teachers but of course open to anyone who wants to get practical insights directly from one of the creators of the unit and discover engaging ways to bring quantum computing into your classroom.

Participation is free of charge, and certificates of participation will be issued.“

“Join us virtually for our Quantum Computing Masterclass Qubits lecture, as part of our in-person masterclass at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

From 10:30am-11:00am, there will be a lecture delivered by National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) staff. This talk introduces quantum computing as a way of using the unusual rules of the quantum world to explore problems that are much harder for ordinary computers.
