Unlocking AI & Computer Science – free online 8wk course from King’s College London for Y12/13 girls, starts 2nd October 2026

King’s College London’s FREE ONLINE course for girls thinking about studying computer science / AI or related topics will run again this year, starting on 2nd October. Interested female students in Years 12 or 13 will need to have registered by 28th September 2026.

“This programme is for female students currently in Year 12 or Year 13 who are considering applying for a degree in Computer Science or something related. Keen students in Year 10 or Year 11 may want to sign up too, but we might not be able to give you a place if the programme is oversubscribed.”

“We hope to be able to accept everyone who wants to take part, but if the programme is oversubscribed, we will select participants based on the following criteria:

  • You are in Y12 or Y13 at a UK state-funded, non-selective, mixed gender school / college.
  • Your home postcode identifies you as socio-economically disadvantaged by the ACORN measure.”

The sessions run on Thursdays from 17:30-18:45 on the following dates

  • 1, 8, 15, 22 October
  • 12, 19, 26 November
  • 3 December.

Are your students curious about artificial intelligence, coding, or the future of technology? Unlocking AI & Computer Science is a free online programme for female students in Years 12 and 13 who are interested in exploring AI and computer science.

Across eight interactive evening sessions, participants will discover cutting-edge research, hear from King’s College London academics and current students, gain insights into studying computer science at university, and meet women working in the technology sector.
