The Computing Progression Pathways suggests that at the orange level, on the theme of Data & Data Representation, a student should demonstrate that he/she:
- Understands the difference between data and information. (Abstraction)
- Knows why sorting data in a flat file can improve searching for information. (Evaluation)
- Uses filters or can perform single criteria searches for information.(Algorithmic Thinking)
The following link to cs4fn articles that illustrate Data & Data Representation – Orange Level
- Magicians want to move cards around efficiently; computers want to move data around in their memory efficiently.
