Mark Dean: Computer Architecture

Mark Dean was lead on the team that designed the first IBM PC! He holds 3 of the original 9 patents for this early and groundbreaking device.

One of his inventions with Dennis Moeller was of the standard architecture for a bus, not a bus that gets you from your home to the swimming pool, a bus that connects the components in a computer.  Having a standard architecture is very important as it means you can swap in different components without having to change lots of things.

Mark Dean has also worked on supercomputers, embedded systems and held the highest offices at IBM.
