Call for Schools and Community Groups in Tower Hamlets to have an activity / stall @QMUL / @EngageQM’s Festival of Communities weekend on 11 and 12 June 2022

Schools and Community Groups in Tower Hamlets – would you like to have a stall at our Festival of Communities? There’s funding (£200) available too. Find out more here. Deadline is Friday 22nd April 2022.

Queen Mary University of London has been running a Festival of Communities for several years (since 2016) and we’re back in 2022 after a rather quiet couple of years. The festival takes place over two days – on the Saturday we come into the community and have marquees and stalls and events in Stepney Green park. On the Sunday we invite the community to come to us and our events are on campus in the People’s Palace. We have loads of local families visiting us and finding out more about what our university does and how it works with local communities. There’s lots of bunting and it’s good fun.

We don’t keep all of the stalls for ourselves though, local groups can come along and share their activities with the visitors too.

“The Festival team are looking for community organisations, groups and projects to join us this year by showcasing local projects and opportunities to Tower Hamlets residents encouraging their involvement, raising awareness of different campaigns or running listening exercises to help shape local priorities.”
