Children’s AI Summit from Turing Inst & QMUL – deadline Fri 22 Nov

The deadline to apply to bring a small group of children and young people to the Children’s AI Summit (4 February 2025) is Friday 22nd November 2024. The event is not open to the general public and space is restricted.

The event is organised by the Turing Institute with Queen Mary University of London.

“On February 4th, 2025, the Children’s AI Summit will bring together children from across the UK to share their messages for global leaders, policymakers, and AI developers on what the future of AI should look like. Putting children’s voices and children’s experiences centre stage, the Summit will explore how AI impacts children today, and how children want to shape its future.

Hosted by the Children & AI team in The Alan Turing Institute’s Public Policy Programme and Queen Mary University of London.

Please note this event is not open to the general public. This is a closed event, where children will be the main group attending, aside from teachers and chaperones.

We have an event capacity that accounts for around 100 children aged 8-12 and around 100 children aged 13-18 from across the UK. Attendance is limited and therefore we will be working with a variety of organisations to select schools and youth groups from across the UK. We will only be able to support groups from the UK for attendance at the Summit. For schools or youth groups selected, a contribution towards travel and accommodation will be provided.

The information above comes from the main page; the information below from the ‘more info‘ page.

If you are a school or youth group interested in bringing a group of children (3-4 children per school or youth group) to the Summit, please fill out the Expression of Interest form by November 22nd.

Please note that to account for the diversity of students, we are working with several child rights organisations to ensure we are covering geographical and socioeconomic diversity across attendees invited to take part. This is very important to us, and if your school or youth group is not selected to attend the Summit, another way to apply for the possibility to attend is through the three competitions linked here. There will be two age categories, 8-12 and 13-18. The first prize winners for each competition across each age category will receive tickets for themselves, an accompanying adult, and some classmates, and will have their travel and accommodation covered to attend the Summit.”
