You’re warmly invited to this in-person talk with computer scientist Professor Luca Viganò, at King’s College London, as part of the STEM Lectures for Schools series. We particularly welcome students from local schools with an interest in STEM subjects.

For generations, children around the world have experienced the timeless wonder of fairy tales. But most don’t realise that fairy tales are full of stories that illustrate the key concepts of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

In this talk, Luca Viganò, Professor of Computer Science, will show that the story of Cinderella is actually about two factor authentication, how the tale of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves provides important lessons in eavesdropping, and even that the adventures of Pinocchio are really an exploration of the ethics of artificial intelligence. Through telling these stories, Luca will show how using art and stories can help people to better under these complex but very important topics.”
