Colleagues at Birmingham University will be hosting an online event later this year, for anyone working (or interested) in Public Engagement in Computer Science / Computing / ICT.
They have created a survey to shape that event and find out what people are up to in this area. Computing teachers / educators are explicitly included in the call for survey participants – “Anyone related to computer science can take part: academics, industry, tech companies, teachers etc.“
📝 Fill in the survey here https://forms.office.com/e/wkQQ0T1KzK
(If you wish you can include contact information to be in with a chance to win some Amazon vouchers).
A full copy of the email sent to the “PECS” list (Public Engagement in Computer Science mailing list) is at the end of this post.
Context
The team behind this are one of the five “Public Engagement in ICT Champions” funded by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, one of several research-funding bodies). Paul Curzon is also one of the five and you can find out more about his project here. The full list of Public Engagement Champions (list includes Engineering and ICT champions) can be found here.
Dear all,
As part of our plans to host an online event around Public Engagement (PE) in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) at the end of the year, we would be grateful if you could take 3 – 4 mins to fill out this survey: https://forms.office.com/e/wkQQ0T1KzK
There is a chance to win 4 x £25 Amazon vouchers by taking part.
The results of this survey will be used to shape the event, so it best caters to your needs.
Anyone related to computer science can take part: academics, industry, tech companies, teachers etc.
We are particularly interested in reaching those who don’t usually partake in PE, therefore are probably not on this list.
If you could share as wide as you can to get the word out that would be great!
